2026 marks 60 years since Gucci first introduced Flora, one of their most iconic and enduring prints. The design came about after Grace Kelly visited Gucci's Milan boutique. Rodolfo Gucci, son of founder Guccio Gucci, wanted to send her home with a gift, so he commissioned illustrator Vittorio Accornero, Gucci's textile designer through the 1960s and into the '80s, to design a silk scarf in her honor. Accornero drew inspiration from Botticelli's Primavera, and the result was Flora: a hand-painted design weaving together endless varieties of flowers, plants, and insects across dozens of colors.

Flora never lost popularity throughout its legacy, but a newfound appreciation for it has made it more sought after than ever before. In recent years, it’s been resurfacing across Gucci's collections with new backgrounds, borders, and colorways layered over the classic Gucci Supreme print, all while keeping the same original flowers front and center.
